KING & I Features: Korean Pop Star King, CBS Reality-TV Star, Dozens of Adorable Kids
Everett and Issaquah, WA – Village Theatre continues its 2007-2008 Mainstage Season with The KING & I featuring Korean Pop Star – and Broadway veteran - Michael K. Lee as a charismatic, energetic and quite charming King. Beth DeVries lights up the stage as Anna, and fresh off the CBS Reality TV Series KID NATION, Mike Klinge stars as her son Louis. Dozens of area children ranging in age from 7 to 17 also enjoy the spotlight –perfect for the entire family this holiday season.
Set against a dazzling exotic backdrop, Rodgers and Hammerstein's Tony Award-winning classic is a stunning tale of learning to love and learning to change. West and East collide when Anna, a British school teacher, is commissioned to govern the King of Siam's many children. Clashing cultures eventually melt into enduring love as Anna and the King realize that people aren't always who they seem. With remarkable musical numbers like "Getting to Know You," "Something Wonderful," and "Shall We Dance?" THE KING & I is one of the most exquisite stories ever told.
