Boy’s Varsity Basketball Coach
Come and enjoy a summer of competitive basketball at the 1st Annual New Brunswick Zebras Summer Basketball Classic. Each team participating will receive a league t-shirt and there will be a concession stand on hand each night of the games.
I hope you will join us this summer in making our league a fun and competitive league.

League information is as follows:
Location: New Brunswick High School Gym – Indoors
Dates: June 30, 2008 – August 6, 2008
Days: Monday and Wednesday Nights
Times: 6 pm, 7 pm, and 8 pm
Format: 6 Varsity Teams, 10 total games
Playoffs: Top 2 teams receive bye. 1st Round 8/4, Semi-Final 8/5, and
Final and Consolation Game 8/6
Cost: $450 entry fee per team, due by May 15, 2008

Summer Basketball Classic
Most N.J.S.I.A.A. rules will be used except for playing time.
T-shirts will be provided for each team. All teams should wear shirts or jerseys displaying team name and of the same color.
The game will consist of four 10-minute running quarters. The clock will stop only during the last two minutes of each half.
Overtime will be a 3-minute period.
A 15-minute forfeit rule will be in effect for the start of the games. If you know you will not be able to make a game, please notify ahead of time so we can make accommodations for the other team.
Two forfeitures results in being removed from the league and your entry fee will not be refunded.
All free throws will be 1 and 1 situation. All fouls during the last 2 minutes of the 4th quarter will be 2 shots.
There will be no counting of personal fouls. If the officials feel that a player is abusing this rule, the player may be removed from the game at anytime.
Any player receiving two technical fouls will be suspended for one game. Second time offenders will be expelled from the league.
Each team is allowed two full timeouts and two 20 second timeouts per game. Timeouts will last one minute.
No team can start the game with less than 5 players.
DO NOT ALLOW YOUR PLAYERS TO DUNK DURING WARM-UPS. The team will be responsible for replacing any broken or damaged rims.
