PRESENTATION
Five women gather to celebrate life with song -the soul`'s sound-,
percussions - reflection of the heart-, and dance - representation of
constant movement-.
They interpret afroamerican, popular and original music: son, rhumba,
cumbia, samba, jazz, reggae, salsa, etc. They combine traditional dance
with
body percussions and incorporate musical instruments such as drums,
conga,
jaranas jarochas, tarimas, afrikan kaskas and piano.
The texts of the selected and composed songs tell us of creole cultures
of
the American Continent, getting us closer to their roots, their vision
of
the universe, of love and of community.
We enter upon these cultural manifestations because they teach us to
manifest our feelings through art and they remind us of the beautiful
gift
that life is. Because they continue to blossom and mix, they keep
growing
out of the need to share. Because dance, music and poetry blend
yielding
many possibilities. Because they are open to improvisation, wich makes
each
presentation something unique. Because we feel identified with these
cultures, because they are kind and they invite everybody to be a part
of
them. They are the fruit of different seeds, as we are. We are from
here as
well as from Africa, Europe. . . We are from the Earth, all of us. ¨¨
Under
the skin, we are all the same.¨
This show offers joy, knowledge. It wakes up our senses and invites us
to
dance, to thank, to share. ¨ The best homage to Mother Earth is to be
joyful.¨
It is an including show for whom enjoy dance, folklore, poetry,
afroamerican
music, vocal music, new compositions and proposals.
It is for all ages.
