PRESS RELEASE
TOUR SALON – where business meets passion
TOUR SALON – the most important trade fair for the tourism industry will be held for the twenty-fifth time on the fairgrounds of Poznań International Fair on 23-25 October 2014. The Poznań event will provide all the interested with an opportunity to become acquainted with an extensive tourist offer of both industry and individual customers in one place at one time. Moreover, a large group of exhibitors and visitors from abroad make the event an excellent promotion of Poland also in the international arena. The special guest of the event will be Martyna Wojciechowska.
By visiting the 25th anniversary edition of the fair you will move in one moment to different places, namely all Polish regions and over 30 countries. TOUR SALON will inspire a trip to Argentina, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, France, Georgia, Spain, India, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Lithuania, Macedonia, Maldives, Moldova, Germany, Palestine, Polish, Portugal, Republic of Seychelles, Russia, Romania, Slovakia, Sri Lanka, Ukraine, Hungary, Great Britain and Italy.

Honorary Patronage of the fair is held by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the Polish Chamber of Tourism, the Polish Tourist Organisation, and the City of Poznan.

For the industry professionals, TOUR SAON for many years has been an excellent opportunity to familiarise with the proposals of all Polish and many foreign regions, travel agencies, spas, hotels, insurance companies or carriers. It is also a good time to supplement the range for the upcoming season, discuss cooperation issues with business partners and find new customers of services. TOUR SALON is also a constantly evolving and going with the changing trends platform for communication and the exchange of experience and knowledge for the tourism industry.
For individual customers, TOUR SALON is a three-day journey around the world, a number of tourism inspirations in the form of proposals presented by exhibitors, as well as an opportunity for participating in the tradition and culture of near and far corners of the globe by taking part in tastings, concerts, shows, and numerous competitions.
As every year, TOUR SALON is divided into a section for professionals and for the general public. This edition is to be visited by many foreign contractors who are interested in the so-called inbound tourism to Poland – says Przemysław Trawa, Vice President of MTP. – The general public is invited to visit the fair from Friday to Saturday. These days will be full of events for that part of the audience – adds Przemysław Trawa.
Tourism is an important sector of the economy, because a meeting as TOUR SALON is a chance for the industry to develop a network of contacts and talk on important issues. – The trade fair includes conferences, workshops, training sessions (also closed ones) for professionals who on the one hand improve their skills here, and on the other, exchange their thoughts and insights, even about the past summer season. Poznań is where the next tourist seasons are planned and offers for the winter are in advance – says Anna Myślak Director of TOUR SALON.
Partner Region – Silesian Province
This year's TOUR SALON – Trade Fair of Regions and Tourist Products celebrates its 25th anniversary.
On this occasion, Silesian Province, which is the official Partner Region of the fair, has prepared a number of attractions not only for trade visitors and exhibitors, but also to the inhabitants of Poznań during the open gala concert of the Stanislaw Hadyna "Slask" Song and Dance Ensemble composed of more than 100 people (23.10.2014, in the Hall of the Earth at MTP fairgrounds). The group is back after 50 years to MTP fairgrounds, where it perfromed for the first time in 1963. And although many still Silesia only through the prism of heavy industry, Tour Salon will provide an opportunity to discover an extraordinary attractiveness of this part of Poland that annually attracts over 4 million visitors.

Tour Salon will feature the performance of the choir of the "Slask" Song and Dance Ensemble which will be also present on the second and third day at the regional stand and the Cultural Stage. In addition, numerous competitions for visitors with attractive prizes (including tickets to tourist attractions, accommodation and trips to the region) will be a fixed element of the program of the Silesian province at the fair in Poznan.

Georgia – the Partner Country
This year's partner country of TOUR SALON is Georgia. The country is an increasingly popular destination in travel agencies, chosen by tourists both during summer holidays and in winter because of the skiing option. Tourists in Georgia admire the highest mountains in Europe, untouched nature during wonderful walks and architectural wonders. It is a land of stone watchtowers situated in high mountains, carved wooden balconies, churches decorated with frescoes and Art Nouveau towns. Georgia is a combination of Mediterranean climate and the legendary Georgian hospitality. We cordially invite you to visit the national stand of Georgia where all information materials about the country as well as numerous travelling proposals will be available. A visit to the stand of the partner country will also bring benefits to professionals, because they will be able to meet 25 local tour operators.

Programme of events for professionals
This year Poznań International Fair once again will host the meetings of both chambers, organizations and associations for the development of tourism, as well as companies that provide direct tourist services. This will be an opportunity not only to gather catalogues offering tourist, incentive and integration trips, but also to discuss future trends for the sector and joint action in this regard. Specialists will be able to exchange views and experiences in the tourism industry.
