Introduction to the Internet with emphasis on using the World Wide Web to locate,
transfer, download, install, and publish information. Survey of emerging technologies
on the internet.
COSC1300 Introduction to Computers OR
COSC1301 Personal Computing
You will be expected to have:
A personal computer with Microsoft Windows 98/2000/XP, if you wish to work at home.
An internet provider (for access to the internet), if you wish to work at home.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 or Firefox 2.0 (these are the latest versions)
An email program to send and receive email.
An email address.
A word processor with spell check.
This course is taught using distance-learning technologies.
Two exams will be given
Grades will be based on both concepts and practical application.
Weekly Assignments 50%
A = 90 – 100
B = 80 – 89
C = 70 – 79
D = 60 – 69
F = all scores below 60
