Claremont’s No 3 team (B4) were the winners in the middle school division with a score of 29 points. Well done Claremont!
Day 2: Another outstanding day with Claremont dominating play throughout the day. The final results were:

Claremont team 1 - winners with a score of 90 points

Claremont team 2 - winners with a score of 90 points

Claremont team 3 - winners with a score of 90 points

Special thanks must go to our wonderful teachers and teacher aides for engaging our students in a very positive and encouraging manner. A big thank you to AB for his wonderful effort, hard work and encouragement.
Thank you to the P and C who met last Monday. The Sun Safety and Uniform policies are currently being updated to align with EQ and Qld Government policies especially in relation to sun safety. The P and C ordered new bucket hats which have arrived. Parents will receive a flyer in the near future re purchasing of the hats.
The Ipswich Show holiday is this Friday. The school has entered two banners in the Bendigo Bank completion. If you get the chance please have a look.
The school won a mini ipad in the Ipswich Resources for Courses competition. Thanks to the community for their support of the school.
Please don’t forget to attend the FOCAL workshop which will be held at the school Tuesday 16 June. The flyer is included in this week’s newsletter.
The SWPBS explicit teaching focus in classrooms this week is I CAN LEARN. I would like to share with you the results of the last survey conducted by the regional SWPBS coordinator with staff, students and admin.

Have a great week and enjoy the show holiday!

COMMUNICATION TOOLS

The ability to communicate allows us to interact with the world around us. For the children in D4, to be successful communicators they must have the right tools and support to develop functional communication skills.

Our students are exposed to a variety of communication tools for example, key signs, PECS and the PODD. These tools are incorporated in all areas throughout the day and allow the children to have a voice.

Through the use of a PODD, our students are now beginning to compose, comprehend and comment.

These photos show the children using concrete symbols, PECS symbols and a PODD.
