1.Nogellova, Z. and Kokta, B.V. and Chodak, I.., A Composite LDPE/Wood Flour Crosslinked by Peroxide Journal of Macromolecular Science- Pure and Applied Chemistry,Vol. A35, 7&8, 1069-1077 (1998)

The properties of a composite consisting of low density polyethylene reinforced with with wood flour were studied in a broad concentration range of the filler. The adhesion between the matrix and the filler was increased via peroxide- initiated crosslinking.. Crosslinking results in a substantial increase of mechanical properties of resulting composites.The formation of covalent bonding between filler fibers and polymer chains was confirmed experimentally.The importance of this work lies in a fact that it presents an elegant way how to economically prepare composites

The fundamental evaluation of Steam Explosion Pulping (SEP) was presented.

The SEP resulted in extraordinary pulp and paper properties of Aspen Ultra-High -Yields pulps at yields around 90% comparable to that of Low-Yield Chemical Kraft hardwood pulps at yield s around 55%.

In addition ,when compared to commercial CMP or CTM pulps not only SEP properties were considerably superior but also the specific refining energy was halved..This works shows that SEP leads to considerably higher cristallinity 1, substancial specific surface and surface sulphonation increase.Futhermore the SEP pulping which is done at temperatures 190 Degrees Celsius and higher leads to additional permanent fiber softenning ans in consequence to better flexibility , fibre- fibre contact and improved bonding.

This paper gives scientific fondation for present and future eventual process commercialisation.
