LETTER OF REQUEST TO COMMUNITY SERVICES
FOR INFORMATION (Section-248)


(To be used by agencies seeking information from Community Services)
Section 248 of the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 provides for the exchange of information regarding the safety, welfare and well being of a particular child or young person or class of children or young persons.

The Act authorises Community Services to use discretion in the decision to provide information in response to this request. Community Services will provide the requested information only if it is determined by Community Services that the provision of information is in the best interests of the child or young person, or the class of children or young persons.
