How to review your Bed/Unit utilization in ServicePoint
The bed utilization data is used in the Annual Housing Assessment Report AHAR report (also known as the Sheltered Homeless Persons Report.) In the past, every couple months a Lane County system administrator has sent programs with homeless bed inventory the HMIS Bed Utilization Tool 2010-2011.xls spreadsheet showing the beds and units occupied generated from OPUS housing transactions or emergency shelter nights.
Starting 07/01/2011 these data are now collected in ServicePoint.
Please run this report to see if your units are showing up as utilized. If they are not then you are probably not using ShelterPoint (and you may have to re-enter this information.)

TIP: If your clients are not showing up in your units then, odds are, you are not using ShelterPoint.
BENEFIT: Unlike OPUS where you had to enter a housing transaction each month while the client was in your program/unit, in ServicePoint you need only put the client in the unit on day one and check them out on their last day.

You will, however, be documenting supportive services each month (such as case management, mainstream benefit acquisition, rides, etc.) in ClientPoint.
