John M. Hoover, 54, who resided in Harrison township his entire life, died at his home in South West, Tuesday morning at 4 o’clock, from heart trouble. Mr. Hoover had been in poor health trouble Mr. Hoover had been in poor health for several years.

He was the son of Daniel and Nancy Hoover and was born on the homestead one mile north of South West, Oct. 22, 1879.

His marriage to Miss Mae Richmond took place Dec. 28, 1900. She and 13 children survive him. They are: Mrs. James (Maude) Barrick of Bristol, Richard Hoover of Elkhart, Mrs. Kenneth (Anna) Capman of White Pigeon, Mich., Robert Hoover of Wyatt, Daniel Hoover of Harrison township, Mrs. Jay (Ada) Detwiler, also of Harrison township, and Florence, Caryle, Bessie, Seth, Raymond, Nat and Donna, all at the parental home. A son, Ned, preceded the father in death. There are seven grandchildren.

There are two brothers, D. M. Hoover of Elkhart, and Ezra Hoover of New Paris, a half-brother, Michael Hoover of Nappanee, and two half-sisters, Mrs. J. W. Christophel of Harrison township, and Mrs. B. L. Weaver of Washingtonville, O.



The funeral will be held Friday with a service at the home at 1 p. m. and another at the Yellow Creek Brick church at 2 o’clock. The service will be in charge of the Rev. Charles Smith of Goshen, and the Rev. C. A. Wright of South West.
